My play was one of 67 finalists, out of over 1,400 scripts submitted, for the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. 

Audrey Residency at New Georges

I've begun a year-long Audrey Residency at New Georges theater company, to write and develop my newest play, Mary Shelley and the Creature.

The Echo Drift, the opera by composer Mikael Karlsson that I co-authored the libretto for, has its premiere in PROTOTYPE festival 2018 in NYC.

Southern Haunt in Atlanta

My newest work Southern Haunt, a spooky-sexy Southern gothic play set in Savannah, appears in December as part of the Threshold New Play Festival at Actor's Express in Atlanta. 

Jason and the Argonauts

An opera for young audiences, created with composer Gregory Spears, for Chicago Lyric Opera's Lyric Unlimited. The piece was performed this fall in neighborhoods across Chicago, for over 20,000 young people. These are some of our amazing audience members!

National Playwrights Conference

Residency at Yaddo

Core Writer at the Playwrights' Center

I've been named a Core Writer of the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, for a three-year fellowship.

See Bat Fly on the The List & On Stage


The Kilroys have published their first annual edition of The List, and my play See Bat Fly has been named one of the top 46 most recommended plays by women. More info here.


The play will appear in a workshop production in summer 2014 at Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep. Come see it in Providence July 9-12 and Aug 1-2!

The New Yorker's Top Ten

Paul's Case was named to The New Yorker magazine's list of Ten Notable Performances and Recordings of 2014!

Paul's Case in New York & Pittsburgh

The chamber opera Paul's Case, which I co-authored the libretto for (with composer Gregory Spears), is appearing at the PROTOTYPE Festival at HERE Arts Center in New York in January 2014 (reviewed in the NY Times) and at Pittsburgh Opera in February.



Ovation Award Nomination


I've just been nominated for an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Playwriting, for my play Creation, which premiered last fall, directed by Michael Michetti, in a wonderful production at The Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasedena (see photo). The Ovation Awards are LA-area's only peer-judged theater awards, with over 400 productions judged by a pool of 250 voters.

Residency in Italy


This spring I was an Afilliated Fellow at the American Academy in Rome, on a fellowship from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I was researching a play that's a backstage drama for a Commedia dell'arte troupe, to be developed with my students at SCAD, and produced in the fall.
